Hello fellow travelers 👋 Still haven't decided about your New Year's Eve plans? Don't worry, I've got you covered! Looking for an active and unforgettable way to spend the New Year surrounded by the stunning Austrian Alps? 🇦🇹 Look no further!🗻 Be part of an adventure filled with winter sports, the thrill of skiing/snowboarding down pristine slopes through picturesque terrain🎿. After that, relax in the luxurious thermal baths, enjoying the views of the mountains. We will also play board games and have drinks, creating memories that will kickstart your New Year. 🍹 Our base will be the Katschberg ski resort, about a 30-minute bus ride away from our accommodation, with an impressive 80 kilometers of ski slopes and elevations ranging from 1,170 to 2,220 meters 🚠 . No matter your experience level, Katschberg offers slopes tailored to every skill level. However, it would be ideal if you know the basics and it wouldnt be your first time skiing/snowboarding :) When it comes to getting around, we will be using the local public transport 🚌 and ski buses to get to the ski resorts as well as when we go to the thermal baths and explore the nearby mountain lake. While I have a rough itinerary in mind, I also enjoy being spontaneous. Your suggestions for additional activities or must-see spots are warmly welcomed, making this journey uniquely ours.

About me 👱🏻‍♀️ I'm Kate, a Czech girl 🇨🇿 and an experienced traveler who has been living abroad including Iceland, Scotland, England and Denmark for the past 8 years. So far I've been 38 countries and counting 🌎 :) I've done both 3+ months long backing trips in South America and Asia, as well as shorter trips around Europe. As a person, I'm very adventurous, outgoing and sporty and I hope we will be a great fit :)

🛌 Accommodation: We will be staying in a fully equipped cottage located in a town of Gmünd. There are three bedrooms with double beds and two sofas. Gmünd

Day 1-2

We will arrive to our accommodation probably at a bit different times but meanwhile we will be getting to know each other and we can also go explore our little town. Afterwards we will go through our activities for the next days and relax a bit before our first day on ski slopes.

Katschberg Pass

Day 2-4

The first day of skiing / snowboarding! We will take a bus to Katschberg ski resort, rent all the necessary equipment and then spending the rest of the time enjoying skiing in the mountains. The second day will be very similar, spending the time skiing / snowboarding and taking the bus back to Gmünd when we get too tired. We will spend the evenings playing board games, socializing and relaxing.

Thermal Römerbad

Day 4

After 2 days of intensive skiing, its time to relax our body and explore the area around. On our way to the relaxing evening spent in thermal baths, we will make a stop by the Millstätter See, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains.

Gmünd

Day 4-6

Its time to celebrate New Years! We will be cooking, playing games and doing other fun activities around Gmünd. The day after will sadly be the time to say goodbye. Since everyone has a different travel plans, the activities of the last day will depend a lot on that.
