After the challenges and limitations posed by the COVID outbreak, I have decided to embark more on journeys of exploration and self-discovery, uncovering hidden gems specially within the enchanting Caribbean Coast of Colombia as I live in Barranquila. My seek for adventure led me to the breathtaking landscapes, where I can be captivated by the sheer beauty splendor of the magical places in Colombia. While the world stood still, I found solace in the untamed mountains of Minca, ascending Cerro Kennedy to witness nature's breathtaking spectacle. Minca has been one of my favorite places to visit and it is only 3.5 hours away from my hometown! After many visits, I also have the find out the glimpse of in the cascading waters of El Jaguar. And then, the beauty of the Buritaca promises a thrilling escape from reality. The journey's arrival at this destination can lead to a serene haven where time stood still in the tranquil embrace of the sun-soaked shores. Having been fortunate enough to discover these magical places amidst the confines of these unprecedented times, I feel I need to share these wonders with fellow travelers. Details about the accommodation: As the focus is on immersing ourselves in the natural wonders of Minca and Buritaca. As we'll be spending the majority of our time exploring the outdoors, my consideration is staying in a hostel with a private dorm for us. This allows us to maximize our budget and prioritize experiences. I'll make efforts to secure a private dorm for our group, depending on availability. Fortunately, there are various hostels and accommodations in the area, providing us with options to suit our needs! By planning ahead and booking in advance, we can ensure we find the perfect place that meets our requirements.

Barranquilla

Day 1

Explore cost-effective arrival in my hometown or Santa Marta Airport. If the whole group is arriving before 10:30 a.m., we can consider an express tour with relish local cuisine before we set off to Minca together!

Santa Marta

Day 1

Optional for a closer arrival option to Minca! We can meet at the airport or city center, kickstarting our adventure smoothly to our first enchanting destination! Ideal arrival time: depending if there will be people arriving in Barranquilla, but 3pm at the latest!

Minca

Day 1-2

This is our first stop! Get ready to chill out in Minca, surrounded by stunning vistas. If we can't find space at my favorite hostel, don't worry; we'll witness a breathtaking sunrise from there around 6pm! Later, let's explore the charming town, savoring great dishes for dinner. Important to have a well rest, as the next day holds thrilling adventures, and we'll need all the energy we can get!

Cerro Kenedy Oriente

Day 2-3

Get ready for the main attraction! After lunch, at 1:30-3 pm, we'll head to Cerro Kennedy on motorbikes or a jeep, depending on our group size and availabilty. Our next hostel awaits, perched above 3000 meters, offering a unique sunset view! We will enjoy an early dinner by 7 pm, as we need to be ready on the next day to leave at 4:30 am for the best sunrise spot, capturing the majestic Sierra Nevada! Don't forget warm clothes; temperatures may vary from 0-15 degrees Celsius. This pat promises unforgettable moments in Minca's mountainous wonderland (as long as it doesn't rain)!

Buritaca

Day 3-4

After the sunrise adventure, we'll return to the hostel for a hearty breakfast. If our energy allows, we'll visit El Jaguar waterfall en route back to Minca. Alternatively, we will head straight to Buritaca for tubing on Don Diego river, witnessing a magical sunset between river and the beach. Our last night calls for a fantastic dinner, celebrating the memories we've made on this incredible journey! Let's cherish every moment in this paradise of Minca and Buritaca!

Santa Marta

Day 4

Depending on the group's schedules, this will an optional the drop-off point for those continuing their journey to other destinations in Colombia. Bid farewell to fellow travelers who venture forth, cherishing the unforgettable memories!

Barranquilla

Same as in Santa Marta, this will be the final drop-off point. As we bid farewell to fellow travelers, we cherish the memorable moments shared on our journey. The path doesn't end here; it opens doors to more incredible experiences!
