Aït Benhaddou
Day 2-3
The morning sun casts long shadows over Marrakech as you begin your drive towards the High Atlas Mountains. The road winds higher and higher through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with every turn revealing more stunning views of jagged peaks and terraced villages. It’s a road of endless discovery—at one moment, the deep green of the valleys, the next, barren mountain tops. You stop at Aït Benhaddou, an ancient mudbrick kasbah that rises like a mirage from the earth. As you walk through its streets, you feel transported to another time, one where caravans stopped here on their way across the desert. You press on to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Sahara,” where the wide, open sky promises adventures to come.

Dadès Gorges
Day 3-4

The road becomes more rugged, twisting through the Valley of Roses, where villagers harvest the fragrant petals each spring. The drive through the Dades Gorges feels like entering a natural fortress, where every corner offers a new dramatic view of towering red walls. You park the cars to hike into the gorge itself, feeling the majesty of nature all around. That evening, you sit under a blanket of stars, the air cool and crisp in the mountains.

Erg Chebbi
Day 4-5
The landscape changes once again as you leave the gorges and head towards the vast Sahara Desert. You pass through the towns of Tinghir and Erfoud, famous for their fossils, a reminder of the ancient oceans that once covered this land. As you approach Merzouga, the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi rise dramatically from the horizon. It’s the Sahara you’ve always imagined—vast, golden, and endless. You park your 4x4s, mount camels, and ride into the dunes as the sun begins to set, casting long shadows and painting the sand a deep red. By the time you reach your desert camp, the stars have come out in full force. The silence of the desert is absolute, broken only by the soft crackle of the campfire and the distant sound of Berber music.stars.

Lac Dayet Srij
Day 5-6
Today is all about experiencing the Sahara’s magic. After a sunrise over the dunes, you climb into your 4x4s and hit the sand. The thrill of driving off-road through the vast dunes is unmatched. You stop to visit a nearby nomadic family, learning about their life in this harsh but beautiful environment. As the sun climbs higher in the sky, you try sandboarding down the dunes, laughing as you tumble down the soft sand. Later, you drive to the nearby Dayet Srji salt lake, where flamingos gather in certain seasons. By day’s end, you return to camp, enjoying another magical night under the stars.

Todra River
Day 6-7
Leaving the desert behind, you drive north towards the Todra Gorges, one of Morocco’s most spectacular natural sights. The road is rugged and long, but it leads you to an oasis of greenery nestled between the towering cliffs of Todra. You park your 4x4s at the entrance of the gorge and explore its narrow canyons on foot, marveling at the sheer rock walls that rise above you like the walls of a great cathedral. You stop for a mint tea at a small cafe, listening to the sound of the river that has shaped this landscape over millennia. That night, you stay in a traditional kasbah, surrounded by the beauty of Morocco’s rugged mountains.

Aït Benhaddou
Day 7-8
Today, the road takes you through the lush and winding Draa Valley, following the path of the river that gives life to this arid region. The palm groves stretch out for miles, and as you drive, you see small villages that seem frozen in time. By the afternoon, you return to Aït Benhaddou, now with a deeper appreciation for the kasbah’s strategic location.
