Join me on a 12-days journey through the western part of Sardinia! From breathtaking beaches, to picturesque villages, to abandoned mines and wonderful rock formations, a visit to Sardinia is definitely a must for every traveler. We will move by car, there are many interest points on the area we will cross, but the actual itinerary remains flexible and we can always adapt it to what we feel and need day-by-day! This trip is the first and easier part of a full Sardinia trip: If you are looking for something more adventurous and challenging, have a look on my profile for the second part! There are no special requirements for this part, except having a minimal experience in road-travelling and being physically fit! We will meet in Cagliari, but the trip will finish in Olbia, on the other side of the island. If you will only join for this first half of the trip and than you need to return to Cagliari, a train ticket Olbia-Cagliari is included in the trip price.

We will choose for every night an Airbnb we like which is on our path, we will move every day or almost every day. Many apartments will be near the sea, others in characteristic villages inland. Metropolitan City of Cagliari
Day 1-2
Our adventure starts in Cagliari, Sardinia's largest city. After settling into our apartment, we'll plan our next days and explore the historical city center, delving into its rich history and discovering Roman ruins scattered throughout. Get ready for a captivating start to our Sardinian journey!

Porto Flavia
Day 2-4
Over the next couple of days, our journey unfolds in the captivating region around Porto Flavia. Prepare to step back in time as we explore abandoned sea-cliff mines, erected a century ago to extract precious minerals. Embarking on a taxi-boat adventure, we'll reach the iconic Pan Di Zucchero, Italy's tallest reef standing proudly at 133m. Thrill-seekers can opt for climbing or via ferrata, with the convenience of renting climbing gear on-site. But that's not all – our exploration extends to the pristine white dunes of Porto Pino, home to one of the island's finest beaches. Get ready for days filled with history, adrenaline, and the natural splendor of Sardinia!

Day 4-6
We will then move to the hearth of the island. Here we will visit some of the unique archeology that characterizes Sardinia and get to know the local culture by visiting some small villages far away from the tourist routes.

Bosa
Day 6-8
Embarking on the azure waters, our journey continues as we explore charming seaside villages nestled along the coast. The following day, we venture inland to uncover the mysteries of ancient Neolithic architecture, including the fascinating Nuraghe structures. Our route through the middle-north of the island promises a blend of coastal enchantment and historical marvels, creating a seamless tapestry of Sardinia's diverse and captivating landscapes. Get ready for a journey that seamlessly weaves together the coastal charm and inland wonders of this extraordinary island!

Castelsardo
Day 8-10
We will next move to the norther part of the island: more beaches, cliffs and beautiful villages await us. Castelsardo is probably the best of them, a medieval village nestled on a promontory over the sea.

Moon Valley (Cala Grande)
Day 10-12
Our adventure takes an eastern turn as we set our sights on the mesmerizing rock formations of Valle Della Luna. En route, we'll pause to marvel at the majesty of Monte Pulchiana, the largest granite monolith in Sardinia. Picture a colossal base of 120m in diameter, towering to a height of approximately 110m – a true natural wonder. Our journey culminates in the vibrant city of Olbia, where the allure of coastal beauty and monumental landscapes converges. Brace yourself for the awe-inspiring journey as we traverse from granite giants to the enchanting shores of Olbia, marking the grand finale of our Sardinian exploration!
