Amman
Day 1-2
Day 1 Monday: Arrival in Jordan / Amman Welcome to Jordan! The land of Martian desert landscapes, World Wonder Petra and the saltiest sea in the world. Once you have arrived at the International Airport of Amman (AMM), please make your way to the hotel. The Sariyah shuttle bus will take you directly to Amman's city centre. If you arrive early, use your time to explore the capital of Jordan and stroll through the local market. We will meet in the hotel lobby at 6 pm and visit a traditional restaurant for dinner. Be excited to meet the group and your trip mates in person!

Jerash
Day 2
Day 2 Tuesday: Amman - Jerash - Mount Nebo - Madaba ~ 120 km drive Let's beat the morning traffic! We try to leave the vibrant city of Amman early and enjoy our breakfast on a stop along the route to Jerash. Upon arriving in Jerash, you feel like you travelled back in time. And indeed! Jerash is famous for its best-preserved Greco-Roman buildings, dating back to the Hadrian era of the Roman Empire. We will explore some of the most breathtaking Roman ruins in the Middle East. We can spend half a day marvelling at the archeological discoveries before we head south to the biblical Mount Nebo.
3
Mount Nebo
Day 2
From top of Mount Nebo, it is said, Moses saw the Land of Canaan: the Promised Land of Israel. On a clear day, the city of Jericho as well as Jerusalem are visible from the summit.
4
Madaba
Day 2-3
We continue the drive to “The Mosaic City” of Madaba. Madaba is a hidden gem not often visited by foreign tourists. It is known worldwide for its one-of-its-kind sophisticated mosaics. We visit the 6th-century mosaic map of Jerusalem in the Byzantine church of Saint George. While in Madaba, we can also stroll the busy Hussein bin Ali Street, where there is a good chance of purchasing colourful traditional handicrafts. We will stay overnight in a beautiful villa with pool with a local family.
5
Ma'in Hot Springs
Day 3
Day 3 Wednesday: Madaba - Ma'in Hot Springs - Wadi Mujib ~ 60 km drive After having breakfast, we continue our journey west towards the Dead Sea. There is reason to be excited, because en route we stop to bathe and relax in the Ma'in Hot Springs. The mineral-rich waters feed the over 100 hot and cold springs in the valley and fall down in beautiful waterfalls at the Ma'in Hot Spring site. The water temperature is usually between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. Soon after our lunch break we reach the shores of the Dead Sea, here, we can spend some time floating in the salty waters. This day is dedicated to relaxation and nature.
6
Wadi Mujib
Day 3-4
In the late afternoon, we arrive at Wadi Mujib Reserve. The Reserve is located within the deep Wadi Mujib gorge and is an ideal location for all adrenaline lovers! We will spend the night in a hotel right by the Dead Sea.
7
Dana Biosphere Reserve
Day 4-5
Day 4 Thursday: Canyon Hike in Wadi Mujib - Kerak - Dana NP ~ 150 km drive After breakfast, we start our two to three-hour canyon walk and follow the course of the river between the red sandstone cliffs to the base of a waterfall. Our hotel will prepare a lunch box for us to keep afloat. Wadi Majib is definitely one of the coolest hikes and landscapes on our tour! If you have neoprene shoes and a waterproof action cam, this is the place to make use of it! Around lunchtime, we depart from Wadi Mujib and follow the Dead Sea coast southwards. The further we drive, the more remote and beautiful the sea landscape becomes. The saline water has a high density that keeps bathers buoyant, and we will make a last swimming stop at the southern banks before leaving the road to the west towards Kerak. The historic Crusader Castle is another marvellous site that most people miss to visit while in Jordan. With the Jordan Pass, we get free access and can spend some time in the fortified town. In the evening, we will reach Dana National Reserve. Let's enjoy a satisfying dinner together and relax before another adventurous day! We will spend the night in an eco camp in mud built three-bed cottages close to the Reserve (own bathroom per cottage).
8
Dana Biosphere Reserve
Day 5-6
Day 5 Friday: Hike in Dana National Park Another big day in nature is awaiting us! After breakfast, we will pack our lunch box and meet with our local experienced guide, with whom we set out to explore this vast and beautiful Biosphere Reserve. This is an unparalleled haven of nature and tranquillity with a chance to see rare birds and endangered species such as the Nubian ibex, Syrian serin and caraca. After our hike, we will also have the opportunity to get to know more about the native people of Dana: the Ata’ta tribe. Most of them live in the quaint village Dana, and I am sure we all will love the welcoming atmosphere and hospitality of this place.
9
Wadi Rum Reserve
Day 6-7
Day 6 Saturday: Dana NP - Wadi Rum ~ 180 km drive Although we will have a long road ahead of us, we take it easy in the morning and have time for a relaxed sunrise breakfast before we head further south. Our road will take us onto the faster Desert Highway and we will make sufficient stops to have snacks and tea and fuel up the car. It is planned to arrive in Wadi Rum Village at around 2pm. We will stay overnight in a bedouin tent camp (two beds in each panoramic tent) in the desert where, after sunset, we enjoy a delicious bedouin meal, as well as bedouin songs and music by the open fire.
10
Wadi Rum Reserve
Day 7-8
Day 7 Sunday: Desert jeep tour with overnight stay in the desert Today, we start by enjoying a traditional breakfast in the camp and will be later picked up by our driver and guide for a full day jeep tour into the desert. Together, we explore the most beautiful spots the red sands have to offer! We will climb onto the highest rock bridge in the desert, which provides a bird’s eye view of the desert landscapes around. Once we reach the sand dunes, we have the chance to try out sand surfing! This will definitely be fun! Our guide will serve us a delicious bedouin lunch and dinner during the tour as well. Finally, we set up a night camp in a cave under the shining stars (we will be given mattresses, pillows as well as blankets are provided). This is the way bedouins used to live for hundreds of years. So it will be a very special experience, indeed. Shower can be taken on the camp site the next day. This will be a long and exciting day and night, and it will leave you with an unforgettable experience of having had a `real homestay`with bedouins.
11
Wadi Musa
Day 8-9
Day 8 Monday: Wadi Rum - Wadi Musa (Petra) ~ 110 km drive We will be getting up with the crispy silence and fresh air of the early desert. Sunrises are staggering in the deserts, and you shouldn't miss the opportunity of taking the special moments in before we depart. After enjoying breakfast, we start out early as the days get really hot out there (also in October). Our guide will drive us back to the camp where we can freshen up and continue with our activities such as exploring more of the desert around the camp and a camel ride. A trip to Jordan is not without a camel ride, and I talked to the camp operators beforehand to ensure the animals are treated well and taken care of. After all: camels have been loyal working animals of the bedouins for centuries and are valuable to them. We will leave Wadi Rum around midday and continue our way to Petra, which is located in Wadi Musa. Our Jordan pass allows us only entry for one day, so we will have two options for the evening to choose from : We can attend the beautifully enhancing Petra light show (additional fee applies) or we can take time out to relax on the roof top terrace of our apartment!
12
Wadi Musa
Day 9-10
Day 9 Tuesday: Day in Petra The highlight of our tour comes closer: Petra. This ancient city is one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World” and for that reason the most famous tourist site in Jordan. Petra is also called “Rose Red City” due to the rose-colored mountain stone, which it is carved in. This place is truly breathtaking! Petra is so big that it takes days to really see it all. Hence, we start early with a guide, who knows every corner and place in Petra. This way, we will learn most about Petra's origins. After that, we have the rest of the day to explore Petra on our own and delve into the history of this most important ancient site in Jordan.

Amman airport parking
Day 10
Day 10 Wednesday: Last Tour Day - Wadi Musa (Petra) - Amman Airport ~ 200 km drive We have spent 10 unforgettable days together, and now it's time to say good-bye. Please make sure to either book an extra night in Amman or have a late afternoon return flight as we will have approximately 3.5 h drive ahead of us, part of which will be on the scenic King’s Highway. Also we might want to stop somewhere along the way for lunch and toilet breaks. We drop the car at the airport and say farewell to your newly found friends. P.S.: If you like to extend your holiday, you can join me on a round trip to Israel, which will take place between 25. to 31. October! In that case, we can take a flight together to Tel Aviv. Feel free to find out more on the Israel Tour by messaging me. Hope to meet you soon🙂🐪!
