Where to go glamping?

Of course, first, you’ll have to choose your glamping destination. For example, Airbnb has plenty of glamping destinations already waiting for you. For example, the state of California in the U.S., Morocco, and Australia are known for their amazing glamping opportunities. Mexico and Thailand also make it on the list of providing awesome glamping opportunities. Check out these specific glamping locations in our favorite glamping destinations:

  • California, U.S.: Cultus Camp
  • Morocco: Desert Luxury Camp
  • Australia: Longitude 101
  • Mexico: Nomade Tulum
  • Thailand: Four Seasons Tented Camp at Golden Triangle

How should you prepare?

Going glamping is kind of like going camping, just not as extreme. However, there are some things you should take into consideration before parting on your glamping trip:

  • Where exactly is your glamping site? Usually, they’re situated kind of far from towns (just like camping sites), so make sure you pack enough food if you’re not planning on driving a ton
  • What is the toilet/shower situation like? Make sure you have desired opportunities for washing up (or if there’s a lake nearby and the weather’s warm, why not just go for a swim!)
  • What activities do you plan on doing? A lot of the time it’s easy to get outdoorsy around glamping sites, but you might want to grab a book or a board game for passing time

What are the costs?

Glamping might be a little more expensive than camping, but definitely easier on the wallet than staying at a full-on hotel. Although, sometimes some high-end glamping spots do end up being even more expensive than a hotel. A night glamping usually will cost you around $50-$250 USD, for a basic glamping set-up (i.e. you might not have running water, but you’ll basically be sleeping in an indoor room with all the cozy amenities). If you want, you will be able to pay $3000 USD for a night, for some extravagant, bucket list glamping opportunities. What to pack?

Of course, if you opt for higher-end glamping opportunities, you’ll most likely have everything you need, and will need to pack the same as if you were going on a resort vacay. However, if you spend a night at a lower-end glamping location, remember to pack the following items:

  • Battery pack (if there’s no electricity)
  • Daypack (for day trips around your glamping site)
  • Insect repellant (for being out in the bush)
  • Headlamp/flashlight
  • Linens/sleeping bags (some simple glamping locations may not provide bedding)
  • Extra blanket (it might get chilly!)
  • Portable cooking stuff/cooler (depending on the electricity situation)
  • Quickly drying cloths/towels/clothes
  • Tissues/paper towel
  • Camping chairs
  • Coffee maker! If you’re a coffee lover, we have the best coffee cities for you to visit… 😉

Of course, your packing list is dependent on what kind of glamping location you choose, and since they can vary a lot, your packing list will also vary a lot. The above items are intended for a very basic glamping setting! Remember to pack cozy lightings such as candles or fairy lights for the ultimate vibes. When to go?

Basic glamping settings don’t usually have heating or air conditioning, so it’s better to pick an off-shoulder season such as spring or autumn so you have the most comfortable stay! If you’re choosing to pay thousands for a glamping night, you’ll have a comfy stay whenever you choose to go, though. 😉
