The best experience with the lowest possible budget – that’s the goal, and today we have the perfect blog for you to achieve that.

Not only in cities there are great deals, but also for excursions like safaris, which are usually found at the upper end of a travel budget, there are great opportunities to get the once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing wild animals in Africa. Are you excited? Here we go!

Safari

The most affordable safaris

Safaris are usually very expensive – we have a few very unique exceptions for you!

1.) For example, this cycling safari in Kenya:

At Hell’s Gate National Park, not only can you keep your budget on the low end because there’s a campground there – no, there’s also one of the cheapest safaris under the (very hot, African) sun! Here you can rent a bike for only 6 US dollars and admire the giraffes, zebras and impalas cavorting in the heat.

Since large predators are rare here, it is no problem to go on foot or by bicycle here. Besides the animals, the volcanic landscape with its basalt cliffs is also impressive.

2.) Walking safari in Tanzania:

During the dry season, from August to October, you can watch thousands of hippos in Katavi National Park as they sizzle in the sun or take a mud bath to cool off. As a group, you can take an armed guide and split the very affordable cost of $20 US among yourselves to take this unique hike through the national park.

3.) Safari in South Africa:

In the Kruger National Park in South Africa, safaris are also offered very inexpensively. Here you can observe the “Big Five”, which include lion, leopard, hippo, elephant, and buffalo, for as little as 20 US dollars – if you are lucky.

Covering almost 20,000 square kilometers, the park offers not only these five African giants but also a wide variety of other animals. What will also make your wallet happy is that there are many campsites in the area.
