Trip Itinerary

Alta
Day 1-2
Starting point of the trip. Alta has an airport where you can fly on. After arriving at the Airport of Alta, you will have to transfer to Alta Harbour where the sailing vessel Moondance awaits you. Meet the Sailing Crew in the afternoon. After unpacking and settling in on Moondance, we will discuss the plan and expectations for the next 7 days. Depending on the weather conditions, we will set sail the same day or first thing in the morning.

Lyngen Alps
Day 2-3
After an early wake-up call and a hearty breakfast, we raise the anchor and set off on our journey south. On Monday, the first 100 miles will be covered, which will take from 14 to 17 hours. A watch schedule is used, in which a four rhythm will be used. Everybody will work, relax and enjoy the ocean on deck for four hours, followed by four hours of sleep will. We sail away from deserted Finmark towards the famous lyngen alps, where we will moor at a fishing pier in a picturesque village late at night. After an arrival beer, it's time to rest again before we will start the first hike in the Lyngen Alps.

Lyngen Alps
Day 3-4
After a leisurely breakfast on board, we invite everyone for a morning swim! There is some time scheduled to explore the area. We can do a drop off a shore with the dinghy. There are plenty of opportunities for a walk culminating in the stunning views of the arctic sea, Norway's fjords and the Moondance.

Senja
Day 4-5
On Wednesday, the journey towards the Lofoten will continue early in the morning. On this day, 80 miles will be covered, a journey which will last 10 to 14 hours. The same watch schedule will be used again and everyone will be getting more and more used to the life at sea. Therefore, they will be challenged to participate as much as possible in the work on board. Also, the crew will guide in handling and steering the yacht. Before dinner, the boat will arrive in Senja, where the night will again be spent at anchor.

Senja
Day 5-6
The Moondance is halfway towards the Lofoten and everyone can sleep in this morning. So, after an extensive breakfast, it is time to go to the shore again. After spending many more hours on the water, the mountains of Norway are calling! Senja is the most famous mountain on the island, known for its beautiful views and unique rock shapes. After a hike, there is plenty of time on the boat to relax, swim or fish.

Trollfjord
Day 6-7
On Friday morning, early in the dark, the Moondance will start the last 100 miles towards the Lofoten Islands. For the last time, there will be 14 to 17 hours of consecutive sailing to the final destination, Moskenes. Halfway through the trip, there will be a stop at Trollfjord. This is the most famous fjord of Norway through its narrow passage and steep uphill cliffs. The arrival will be celebrated with a dinner in a local restaurant.

Moskenes
Day 7
This arrival destination is located in the eastern part of the Lofoten, which means there will be views of the rugged mountains of the Lofoten throughout the whole crossing. From here you can take a ferry to Bodo from which you can fly out.
