It is the foamy waves from the Tyrrhenian on one side and the stark white marble peaks of Massa Carrara on the other which give way to the nickname Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Access to the sea has always been one of the primary characteristics of Viareggio, causing most of its ups and downs throughout history. Today it reigns as the second largest city in the province of Lucca, and during the season of Carnival and the summer months, its population explodes with visitors far and wide who come to stay at one of the many hotels, tempted by the colors, the energy, the sandy beaches and the delectable menu of fish. We will relax on the sandy beach of Viareggio, enjoying the Summer atmosphere under the Tuscan sun. We will have an umbrella and chairs on the beach, to rest after swimming in the crystal waters.

Florence
Day 7
Florence (Firenze in Italian) is a small cultural metropolis that offers visitors some of the world’s top museums and art galleries. The city is a real open-air museum and is the birthplace of the Renaissance. Tuscany is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy, and as the capital of the region, Florence is mainly visited for its museums, its fashion boutiques, its tasty Florentine cuisine, for an unforgettable experience watching the sunset over the Ponte Vecchio or to admire some of the most stunning Renaissance artwork, like the sculpture of David. The Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral Square) should be the first and last stop when visiting Florence. The square houses the city’s Cathedral, the Campanile di Giotto, and the Battistero di San Giovanni, all of which make up Florence’s most famous landmarks, along with the Ponte Vecchio. A visit to the Campanile di Giotto and the Cathedral is a must-do in this amazing city. If possible, walking on top of the hill, in Michelangelo Square would be a great conclusion for this visit. Also, Ponte Vecchio is a typical spot we won’t miss.
