Gothic Quarter
Day 1-2
Barcelona's history began where the Barri Gòtic is today, in between the Rambla in the west and Via Leietana in the east. The narrow streets and little squares of this neighborhood invite you to wander around and let yourself be surprised by its charm and always a lively atmosphere. Painters like Picasso, Casas, Novell, and Russinyol have strolled through the Gothic Quarter looking for inspiration before entering the Quatre Gats cafe, on Carrer Montsió. Gaudí also walked here as he took his daily saunter to the church of Sant Felip Neri, as did the architect Domènech I Montaner on his way to find inspiration for the Palau de la Música. Thousands of visitors walk through the Barri Gòtic every day, following in the footsteps of history.

MUHBA Turó de la Rovira
Day 4
The best viewpoint in all of Barcelona used to be a military base with anti-aircraft guns. This anti-aircraft battery 'Bunkers del Carmel' was constructed in 1937 to protect Barcelona amid the civil war. For years the area surrounding the bunkers was in a state of serious disrepair, but today only a few concrete remnants of this anti-aircraft battery remain visible, and the adjacent district has been extensively renovated. The area is now freely accessible. Particularly around early evening, you will see many locals who bring their own drinks and come here to enjoy the amazing 360-degree panorama.
